We manage the drinking water, wastewater, and storm water services from source to sea for our councils - Hutt, Porirua, Upper Hutt, Wellington City, South Wairarapa District, and Greater Wellington Regional Councils. We partner with the community, engineering consultants, and contractors on projects, water conservation, operations work, and asset planning.
The Programme Practice Team provides a full suite of support functions and delivery processes, policies, and procedures to ensure practice excellence for the capital programme.
Their specialist services are delivered internally to programmes and projects including Major Projects, Programme Delivery, Design Team, Network Engineering, Network Management Group and the Customer Operations Group. They also work across our supplier whanau to build consistency and quality of our project delivery.

Programme assurance provides confidence in the rollout and continuing function of the Wellington Water capital programme to ensure the best possible quality, efficiency, risk mitigation - and ultimately success of the programme and the projects within it.
The purpose of the position of Programme Assurance Lead is to establish and manage the monitoring and audit process and reporting on the effectiveness of the programme management capital expenditure outcomes. With a particular focus on carbon, environmental and quality, you will ensure that the projects within the programme maintain high quality processes and achieve the required business outcomes.
You will be tasked with refreshing the current assurance framework. You will establish and manage an outcomes-focused audit programme. This requires a proactive character with a strategic skillset and strong programme assurance overview that anticipates issues before they arise. You will establish and implement effective risk management plans and procedures. You will also lead the required corrective initiates.
Your credentials will show the following:
Your experience devising and establishing quality management plans, procedures, standards, and specifications. That you monitor the performance of your work programmes well, determining competency standards and training needs. That you manage and meet customer charter, frameworks, and requirements. How you effectively drive cultures and behaviours to meet the industry best practices and that you work in a collaborative way; effectively assisting leaders and staff see beyond compliance, to the business performance aspects of risk and quality management.
You like to act as a catalyst for change with a focus on continual improvement in performance and quality.
