Description
PeopleSoft HCM Development team is responsible for the maintenance and delivery of new legislative requirements to our customers as part of various ongoing releases along with supporting the existing customers and internal stakeholders.
This product manager will work as part of a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality, and marketing of legislative product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Research the Canadian legislative entities to ensure that we are delivering the most current and up-to-date legislative requirements. Organize inter-departmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule.
As a member of the product development division, this individual will define product specifications and/or strategy for legislative requirements. Gather, interpret, and analyze government publications and other sources for Federal, Provincial and Territorial legislation changes to define and create product design specifications. Initiate and foster relationships with other groups. Create and review product documentation and collateral. Ensure successful product releases based on corporate priorities.
Duties and tasks are varied and complex, needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise.
Job Responsibilities
Drive Product Management work for key PeopleSoft HCM Payroll for North America legislative initiatives that meet regulatory requirements along with streamlining administrative processes and continue to modernize UI design and ensure future compliance of these legislative features:
Research and provide high quality user stories that support the federal, provincial, and territorial legislative changes for the Payroll for North America Canadian Payroll product including creating use cases, wireframes/prototypes, and functional requirements.
Partner with product strategy to present the functional vision of the product to key customers or partners in various forums (conferences, focus groups, customer meetings).
Support the development team and other extended teams in resolving the customer reported legislative issues.
Able to handle incidents escalated by customers on a priority basis.
Ability to multi-task on various assignments including new legislative features, research of legislative changes, customer issues/escalations and ad-hoc projects
Assist in writing, editing, and reviewing high quality user documentation for project deliverables.
Qualifications
Experience in Canadian Payroll.
Member of the Canadian Payroll Association is a plus.
Functional knowledge of PeopleSoft HCM Payroll for North America applications (including Payroll for North America and ePay) is highly desirable.
Functional knowledge in Commitment Accounting processing is a plus.
Experience working in large organizations in a legislative analyst role is desirable.
4 plus years experience in researching and documenting complex legislative changes.
End to end knowledge of software development cycle.
Experience with Agile development methodology.
Good experience in writing Functional Design Documents and User Stories
Ability to communicate well and work in a global development setting.
Be able to conduct the design meetings with extended team independently.
Strong written and verbal English skills are a must.

As a member of the product development division, you will analyze and integrate external customer specifications. Suggest and justify product directions and specifications. Specify, design and implement moderate changes to existing software architecture. Build new products and development tools. Build and execute unit tests and unit test plans. Review integration and regression test plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering to discuss major changes to functionality.
Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.
