We’re looking for a product manager with strong technical skills, customer focus, and strategic insights to be at the heart of this transformation, concentrating on: 

  • Empowering our internal customers with increasingly efficient and effective systems, delivering their best work across both development and client platforms. 
  • Modernizing & evolving our engineering portfolio to enable state-of-the-art development in the rapidly evolving space of machine learning (ML), in collaboration with engineering and product teams across the company  

 

This is a high visibility role with focus on big transformations and large gains. Engineers, data scientists, PMs, and other disciplines in Office and across many Microsoft products will be customers of your work and leadership is heavily invested your efforts. Together we’ll empower Microsoft product teams to build, validate, and ship innovation in our products with performance, reliability, accessibility, security, and trust that empower every person and organization to achieve more. 

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate across teams, disciplines, and organizations to deliver demonstrable engineering system improvements that enable ML developers to create, iterate, measure, and release their changes rapidly and with high quality 
  • Cultivate strong partnerships with ML development teams across multiple products, building deep empathy and understanding of how they get their work done  
  • Innovate on engineering tooling, services, and experiences to address customer needs 
  • Leverage partnerships and data to drive the vision and improvement of tools and processes at a strategic level 
  • Become a reference for ML development best practices, technologies, and techniques across the industry and cross-group within Microsoft 
  • Actively promote diverse and inclusive work environments, tools, and services. 

Qualifications

Required: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM discipline or equivalent work experience 
  • Proven track record in developing and delivering software or services based on data and customer requirements 
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills used to convey business problems, alternatives, and product strategies 
  • Proven technical skills and ability to ramp up quickly with new technologies  
  • Excellent cross-discipline leadership and collaboration skills 
  • Experience with – or passion to learn – systems, processes, and best practices for machine learning development 
  • Ability to work effectively with a globally-distributed team 

 

Preferred: 

  • Knowledge of engineering scenarios, tools, builds, SCM, and validation 
  • Experience defining, measuring, innovating, and driving change in large-scale software products and systems 
  • Experience driving changes on shared platforms
