Product Control Central Funding Manager
Job Description
- Act as the primary point person for all Front Office queries and issues and effectively monitor, track, and complete tasks in a timely fashion
- Perform daily valuations and analyze P&L movements
- Circulation of daily decomp analysis, investigating unexplained P&L / variances where they occur, escalating where necessary in accordance with policy. In conjunction with this, timely and quality production of both granular and high level commentaries, where daily tolerances are breached.
- Pro-actively monitor any operational, valuation and risk management issues pertaining to the portfolios assigned
- Inform senior management of any irregularities that may present potential exposure to the firm
- Provide P&L Analysis – commentary for large day 1 P&L for management reporting
- Communication of Daily, MTD and YTD results to the Desk Head, compare P&L Estimate vs. Actual results – explain variances and obtain sign-off
- Ensure sign-offs are obtained from the Front Office in a timely fashion
- Prepare all monthly accounting entries to the sub and General Ledger and conduct reconciliations to ensure figures are properly tied back to the systems of record
- Provide support to Statutory and Regulatory Reporting and Head Office as it relates to the business – filling out relevant templates and providing adequate back up
- Work closely with all members of the Product Control team, providing guidance, cross training and cover when required.
- Identify opportunities to improve and pro-actively streamline processes
- Perform daily P&L and Balance Sheet reconciliations to ensure figures are properly tied back to the systems of records
- Maintain a solid knowledge base of how various products are handled by the Front Office systems
- Perform testing of new system updates and releases
- Provide information to satisfy audit requests from both internal and external auditors
- Develop an understanding of RBC operations and the functions of various business units across the firm
This role covers the European business, and if you like an early start to the day, this role is for you, starting at 6:30am to align with London, England Business days and hours.
Time split:
70% Reporting and Analysis
5% Improving Current Processes
25% dealing with Ad hoc requests
Must Haves
- 2+ years of Capital Markets experience
- Strong accounting experience
- Excellent Excel Skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal and communication skills
- Able to work effectively and reliably under pressure
- Advanced understanding of procedures and operational controls as they relate to trading systems and workflows
- Strong ability to work independently with minimal guidance from manager
Required:
University Degree
Preferred:
Canadian Securities Course
CFA Candidates or Charter holders
