What is the opportunity?

The RBC ETF product team is responsible for product development and management, of the RBC Exchange Traded Fund family, available to Canadian investment advisors, institutional investors, and individuals through the RBC iShares Strategic Alliance with BlackRock Canada.  The product associate / analyst will assist with research to identify product opportunities, perform reviews of our product offering to ensure their competitive positioning is achieved in the market place, oversee the fulfilment of our regulatory related obligations, and assist in the management of the day to day demands of the existing ETF family. What will you do?

• Develop in-depth knowledge of, and familiarity with, the RBC ETF family
• Perform competitive analysis of competitor product launches or, changes and identify sales trends to spot potential new product opportunities
• Provide oversight of product management responsibilities, including the fulfilment of RBC ETF regulatory related obligations (prospectus renewals, annual and semi-annual financial statements), income distributions, and tax reporting, working closely with operations, legal, compliance and tax teams, as required
• Provide support to our sales teams, including responding to day to day inquiries and requests for product information and support
• Working with marketing and the Investment Products Advisory Group, assist in the creation of sales messaging for RBC ETFs, ensuring messaging is appropriate in the context of current market conditions, client needs and sales focus.
• Assist in the development of new product ideas and help manage the day to day demands of the existing ETF family
• Participate in special projects and performs other duties as assigned
• Interact with members of the portfolio management, sales, operations, legal and marketing teams, as well as members from the iShares ETF product team

What do you need to succeed?

Must Have

• 2+ years’ experience in an asset management context
• Experience working with mutual funds or ETFs
• Knowledge of capital markets and investment products
• Strong strategic, analytical and problems solving skills
• B.A./B.S. in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or other related field

Nice to Have

• CFA or progress towards or equivalent experience or industry accreditation
• Experience using analytical tools such as Morningstar Direct and Bloomberg
