The Procurement Specialist is responsible for the procurement of corporate and operational goods and services district-wide. This role gets involved in a diverse range of projects and activities and will appeal to those that enjoy being part of the action!

It's not just local, the Procurement Specialist is also involved in regional (South Island) procurement activities and national procurement initiatives. The focus is on operational and support services and positively influencing the procurement of future capability through active engagement with NMH managers and service areas.

Ko wai he kaitono tōtika? (Who is an appropriate applicant?)

This position would suit an experienced procurement specialist that is seeking an opportunity to do the following:

• Get involved in Health Procurement at an exciting time as we move forward into a unified national procurement practice under Health NZ
• Provide professional procurement advice and guidance to NMH colleagues; and lead procurement processes on their behalf
• Take a procurement portfolio leadership role within our organisation

You will have excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to work with specialist staff, team leaders, managers, senior leaders, government agencies and suppliers. You will be highly organised and have the ability to manage a diverse procurement portfolio.
