Position summary

Business analysts manage the requirements development process through the elicitation, analysis, specification and verification of multiple levels of requirements. They facilitate business process improvement via the methodical investigation, analysis, review and documentation of all or part of a business in terms of business functions and processes. Business analysts create viable and consumable specifications including acceptance criteria in preparation for the construction and testing of IT solutions.

Experience

• Eight to Eleven years in a corporate IT environment.
• Five to Eight years of experience in business analysis or related technical field (application development, technical product owner, deployment/implementation, and infrastructure).
• Experience in selecting and executing elicitation techniques such as Interviews or Exploratory Prototypes
• Facilitated Workshops, Focus Groups, Observation, User Task Analysis, Documentation Study and Surveys
• Prepare BA effort estimations based on the scope of activities and deliverables within the project / program
• Strong written and verbal communication skills - must be able to communicate fluently in English both verbally and in writing.
• Experience in projects from varied and managing stakeholders from across the globe would be advantageous
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience in writing user stories and acceptance criteria
• Experience in managing teams would be an added advantage
• Knowledge of ServiceNow would be an added advantage
• Knowledge in reporting/dashboard would be preferable

Responsibilities

• Plan, estimate and communicate the business analysis approach
• Follow the project strategy to elicit and document requirements
• Adhere to the defined procedures on how the requirements will be managed (i.e., base lining requirements, requirements, change control and requirements traceability).
• Manage and negotiate with difficult and opinionated stakeholders with regular supervision during elicitation sessions and during the development life cycle.
• Develop understanding of Analysis and overall Process Re-engineering including business process modelling, capability gap assessment, and definition of solution approach and scope.
• Development and deployment of formal business analysis methods and tools to govern and control programs at a Proficient level in accordance with firm standards.
• Work in close collaboration with other teams including solution architects, development, testing and deployment
• Proactive mindset, leading meetings and controlling deliverables and timeline
• Coach, mentor, and support team members as and when needed
• Suggested technical certifications
• Familiarity with ITIL v2 or v3 or 4 would be advantageous.
• Progressing towards a Certification of Competency in Business Analysis
