Our world is rapidly transforming.  The amount of data each of us consume and create is ever increasing.  In fact, the total amount of content in the world is doubling every two years now.  People spend 20% of their time looking for information and 60% of people claim to be missing key pieces of data to make decisions daily.  All of us must manage an ever-increasing number of processes and systems often while on the go and multitasking. We are excited about transforming our customers into “AI natives,” where technology augments their ability to achieve more with the files, web pages, news, and other content that people need to get their task done efficiently, by providing them timely and actionable notifications that understands their intents, context and adapts to their work habits.  

We are building a large-scale distributed Notification platform on top of SharePoint, M365 Substrate, Azure, a micro-services architecture, Machine Learning and more. We’ll approach our problem space with empathy for the change our customers are undergoing with the cloud, respecting personal preferences, privacy and compliance.  

Responsibilities

We are looking for an Engineering Manager to build and lead a team that will be working on the M365 Notification platform. This will be a backend team that works on a microservice architecture that leverages Azure and M365 services. 

The Engineering Manager will be responsible for building this team, creating a roadmap, driving architecture, and defining what success looks like and then delivering great value to our customers, all in concert with their partners in product management and data science. This leader will also engage with partners and customers to understand needs and drive key partner relationships across M365 as a One Microsoft effort.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 10 years of demonstrated commercial software engineering experience is required in backend and microservices
• 2 years of experience as a people manager or technical lead
• BS or MS in Computer Science or related field is required or equivalent experience
