Operating as a key member of a tight knit, dynamic and highly collaborative team the Senior Transport Advisor will make a significant contribution to key pieces of work across council and external agencies to advance the organisation's transport priorities, which include:

• Reducing transport emissions
• Improving the safety of the transport system
• Enabling and encouraging Aucklanders to shift toward greater use of public transport and active modes
• Improving the equity of the transport system
• Integrating transport with land use and growth planning

To be successful in this role a preference is for a sound knowledge of transport planning, project prioritisation, and business case assessment processes. A well developed understanding of the relationship between transport, land use and growth planning.

We are seeking experience in transport planning/strategy development, planning, economic analysis, public policy advice or similar, with experience in political reporting and presentation.If you are a strategic thinker and are intersted in contributing to reducing Auckland’s transport emissions and improve its environmental impacts- then this is an ideal job for you.
