Our teams are seeking Principal Software Engineer, to join us as we create and deliver mission critical business services and processes for Microsoft. You will have the opportunity to design and develop creative, compelling, and cutting-edge end to end services and processes that support our world-wide operations. You will design and develop software and services at scale, innovating on the latest technologies as the earliest adopters.

As a Principal SWE in the Finance space, you will implement world class finance services. Services and applications built by you are going to be used by Microsoft employees and external Suppliers/Partners communities worldwide. Core responsibilities would be to design, implement and deploy great technical solutions for empowering our users. Deploying and supporting features that enable our mission critical business partners. You will develop software and services at scale, innovating on the latest technologies (Cloud, Big Data, Mobile, Social, Security Software and services) while engineering for automated testing (in a TDD environment), Continuous Integration & Deployment as well as instrumenting telemetry that helps us monitor our service and helps diagnose and resolve issues quickly. You will work closely with peers across teams to help build flexible and high-performing components that enable next generation of business services.

Define project estimates and development project plans, lead vendor resources, develop prototypes, develop technical specifications, define and execute unit test plans, implement build and deploy automation.

Identify new opportunities to help meet our customers’ needs, and evangelize innovative technical solutions for them.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

12+ years of software development experience for enterprise applications

7+ years of development experience in C# or Java, ASP.NET

10+ years of relational database management system experience  (RDBMS) – SQL, ORACLE, or others 

Preferred Qualifications:

High Proficiency architecting and designing distributed and cloud applications

High Proficiency in database modeling and design

Experience in Service Oriented Architectures (SOA) and REST.

Experience in object-oriented analysis, design, and implementation

Experience with Windows Azure SDK & APIs, Azure SQL Database, or similar cloud technology

Experience with client-side web application development using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript Frameworks.

Experience in test driven development / unit testing methodologies, test frameworks and methodologies

Sound problem resolution, judgment, negotiating and decision-making skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to proactively identify and resolve issues

Enthusiastic, motivated and self-driven

Strong ability to succeed in ambiguous environment

Self-starter with excellent problem-solving & analytical skills and the ability to execute with limited direction

Strategic and creative thinker to solve difficult problems.

Demonstrated ability to build strong collaborative partnerships

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline or equivalent work experience
