The Graphics IO team delivers world-class graphics and IO technologies for Windows and Xbox. Help shape the future of gaming as new, high speed, storage devices become available. We are looking for engineers with experience and a strong desire to build cutting edge graphics IO systems.

Responsibilities

• Software development work in a small team in your area of specialty on functionality, performance and quality
• Engage directly with game developer partners to identify and fix specific issues, gather feedback, and gain insight into future product development
• Contribute to SDK components that enable game developers to take full advantage of the available hardware
• Be a key stakeholder for quality, documentation and tooling
• Research & develop new compression algorithms

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or related field
• At least 10 years of experience delivering broadly released, commercial quality consumer or enterprise software  
• 5+ years coding in C/C++
• Knowledge of GPU architecture and low-level graphics APIs such as Direct3D, OpenGL/Vulkan, or Metal 
• 2+ years' experience writing HLSL shaders
• Experience with modern game IO systems
• Experience profiling and optimizing complex systems

Preferred Qualifications:

• The ideal candidate has good communication/customer interfacing skills, ability to deal with ambiguity, and ability to prioritize software development tasks
• Knowledge of state-of-the-art compression algorithms and implementations
• Any experience with assembly language or firmware programming would also be a great added bonus
