Customers use the power of Azure Compute to host millions of multiplayer gaming sessions and solve large computational problems in seconds. Workloads range from new “born-in-the-cloud” services to traditional applications migrated from physical datacenters.

The Azure OneFleet Container and Storage team brings the industrialized container technology and premise container and storage technologies to the Azure Compute infrastructure for 1st party customers and Azure Core Control plane. We envision a unified application platform by bringing together current OneFleet control plane and industrialized open-source Infrastructure management system to manage a large-scale Azure Region or Micro Region.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical design and coach juniors in the team
• Design, write and deliver software to improve the availability, reliability, scalability, latency, security, resiliency, and efficiency of a service.
• Contribute debugging, troubleshooting complete stack of a service and drive analysis of an outage; write software and build automation to resolve problems permanently.
• Participate actively in code reviews, bug/issue triage with the feature teams, and support well informed decisions towards business and engineering goals.
• Review and influence ongoing design, architecture, standards and methods for operating services and systems; assess design and code changes to drive improvements.
• Conduct periodic on call duties.
• Technical passion, terrific problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently, and mentor         Junior team members.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• Demonstrated skills in the development of highly scalable and reliable system in distrusted platforms.
• 8+ years of software development experience
• Strong experience with C#/Java/C/C++ and systems programming.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with cloud infrastructure and online services is a big plus      
• Demonstrated problem solving and debugging skills.
• The ability to multi-task while balancing short-term and long-term tasks is essential.
• Ability to collaborate across organizational boundaries.
• Strong system design experiences with tech lead background
