Azure continues to build the largest global footprint of any public Cloud provider. Within Azure’s engineering team, there are specialized units responsible for each of the commercial industries and areas of Azure’s expansion.  The Azure Global Expansion division is focused on expanding Azure’s footprint and unlocking new markets, to make Azure the World’s Computer.
Responsibilities
As the Market Intelligence Lead within Global Expansion, you will focus on understanding the competitive landscape for a geography with a focus on market entry, market capture, available solution, targeted workloads and infrastructure point of view. Success in the role will be in not only understanding the approach of our competitors but making recommendations to fill in gaps within the Microsoft offering based on where the market is going – not where it has been. The successful candidate will be able to discern between hype and reality, marketing fluff and architecture and will guide our teams in these areas.
This role will work across a tremendous internal network and help define country-relevant priorities and infrastructure to maximize the adoption of Azure. This includes the definition and execution of infrastructure investment strategies, as well as tailored engineering-led programs and motions that remove technical constraints, unblock customer adoption and enable key new markets and technologies.
 
The successful candidate must be customer obsessed, collaborative, outcome orientated, and be able to apply solution-based thinking to critical problems.
The Market Intelligence Lead may engage directly with key customers and partners up to the CXO level, supporting partnerships and opportunities with tier one customers.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
8+ years of experience driving large, complex programs and solutions that deliver high quality outcomes
Excellent interpersonal and group dynamic skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Understanding of business and technology-related strategy
Track record of high-quality execution of strategic vision
Demonstrated systematic attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
Depth of experience in cloud adoption, transformation and various cloud platforms
Engineering experience as an architect or technical program manager
Experience in cloud-scale solution architecture or software development
Knowledge of the Azure or competitive platform and infrastructure
Data centre infrastructure planning and architecture experience
Experince with Market Research to determine outcomes
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
