The Digital Ecosystem team is a newly formed team focused on developing and delivering on strategies to better support our extensive network of partners in the tax ecosystem. These range from accountants to tax agents and include digital service providers offering solutions for financial, tax and payroll management. In this role you will have the opportunity to shape the future direction of Inland Revenue while also being part of building a team that will make a positive difference to our partners, our customers and NZ Inc.

As the Principal Advisor for Risk and Audit you will be responsible for ensuring that IR has the processes, practices and measures it needs to ensure the integrity of the digital ecosystem and the compliance of partners and digital service providers in the digital ecosystem.

In this varied role you will:

• Ensure there are adequate performance and risk management measures and controls in place to manage IR's risk position as regards digital ecosystem partners and IR's interdependencies with these partners.
• Establish and evolve the risk and performance management framework for digital ecosystem partners.
• Monitor and measure partner risk and performance and manage exceptions and exposure.
• Initiate audits and other control measures as required by the risk and performance profile of our partners.
• Drive resolution of risks, issues and performance exceptions as required.

To be successful in this position you will possess the following:

• Experience of risk and performance management in complex environments.
• Ability to engage across a broad range of external stakeholders to appraise and manage risk.
• Ability to develop and manage risk and control models that operate in organisations with a high level of partner dependency.
• Experience and skills in development and implementation of audit programme and other control measures required to ensure the ongoing compliance of ecosystem participants.
