We are looking for an experienced GP Practice Manager to join our dynamic team. Working with the Lead Nurse to foster a culture of patient focused care in a friendly environment. Successful applicant must be a team player and be flexible.
The candidate will be responsible for managing human resources, maintaining financial records and implementing quality systems in order to ensure a smooth and efficiently functioning practice, in addition to providing an exceptional standard of care to our patients. The ideal candidate will be someone who is kind and compassionate towards our patients with a focus on customer service and building relationships between various stakeholders of the business.
Duties
- Manage and co-ordinate practice staff and maintain a high level of performance and continuing professional improvement
- Review and improve practice/business systems to ensure smooth and efficient functioning, high quality services and continuous improvement
- Maintain information systems computer hardware and software and advise of requirements where necessary
- Maintain awareness of current and new legislation to ensure business is complying with all statutory and regulatory obligations including industrial and employment laws, OHS requirements and privacy policy obligations
- Supervise the work of others, including work allocation, rostering and guidance
- Implement strategies for achievement of practice goals
- Recruit suitable staff and manage an open and transparent recruitment process
- Completion of staff rosters 2 weeks in advance
- Ensure the back-up system is managed as per practice procedures
- Effectively managing complaints and/or incidents ensuring practice procedures are followed
- Reception duties when required
- Experience with practice accreditation process preferable
- Minimum 2 year experience in medical practice management
- Knowledge of GP software such as Best practice preferable
- Good working knowledge of the Medical Benefits Schedule
- Professional approach to management of complaints and adverse incidents
- Conducting staff performance reviews with support from practice principals
- Manage clinical and non clinical staff rosters
- Manage the financials of the practice eg: end of month reports, patient billings and practice invoices
- Prepare for and coordinate regular practice meetings
- Sound management of day to day practice operations
- Identify opportunities for growth and process efficiencies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Essential Criteria
- Previous experience of 2 or more years in General Practice as a Practice Manager
- Experienced at Best practice Software and Practice Accreditation
- Superior computer skills including the use of Microsoft Office software
- Possess advanced communication skills both verbal and written
