The Role:
Lead a team of engineers develop and execute responsibilities for post-silicon activities related to power and performance characterization and optimization of AMD Client Computing products.

Responsibilities:
- Managing and growing a technical team of engineers from day-to-day assignments to long-term career development
- Developing and executing power, performance, and perf/watt characterization and optimization test plans for different usage scenarios (CPU, GPU, Multimedia, VR, Compute, Static Screen, etc).
- Analyzing interactions between various power management features and optimize their configurations for power and performance
- Developing post-silicon power and performance models for key usage scenarios
- Support prototyping experiments for improving current and implementing new features that impact power and performance
- Debugging and troubleshooting system-level issues that may occur in test environments and platforms
- Proactively driving continuous improvement for post-silicon power and performance activities
- Participating in the product definition process
Key Requirements:
- Experience: 6+ years
- Excellent leadership skills including experience managing technical projects/teams
- Strong programming skills: C or C++, and a scripting language (Perl, Python, Ruby, etc.)
- Understanding of concepts in the following areas:
- computer organization/architecture
- digital/analog electronics
- power/thermal management
- Extensive laboratory experience, including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.
- Strong analytical/problem solving skills and pronounced attention to detail
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
- Must be a self-starter, and able to independently drive tasks to completion
- Experience with data analysis tools and machine learning is a plus
Education:
- Bachelors or Master’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science with emphasis on computer architecture and/or workload analysis
