Taranaki Base Hospital, New Plymouth

0.5 FTE (40 hours per fortnight)

About the Role

We is seeking the services of a Paediatric Physiotherapist to work in our Child Physical Therapy Team at the Child and Adolescent Community Centre. You would be working as part of a dynamic team with You would be working as part of a dynamic team of community Allied Therapists, including Occupational Therapists, Speech Language Therapists, Visiting Neurodevelopmental Therapists and Therapy assistants.

 

The appointee to this position is responsible for assessment, provision of appropriate therapy, equipment and support for children and adolescents up to the age of 16 years and their families/whanau/caregivers, who are identified as having a physical, sensory or intellectual disability or a combination of these, which is likely to continue for a minimum of six months. 

 

About You

  • NZ registered Physiotherapist.
  • Current Practising Certificate.
  • NZ Drivers Licence.

  • Able to communicate effectively with all staff, patients and patient’s families or care givers (written and oral).
  • Show mutual respect - positively contributing to the good of the department.
  • Have a commitment to quality and accuracy and is keen to learn and develop new skills.
  • Dedicated team player with a willingness to learn new skills.
  • Shows a caring but professional manner in all aspects of work.  Is aware of and sensitive to all cultural issues.
  • Time management skills and ability to prioritise.
  • Demonstrates initiative.
  • Flexible and adaptable, and prepared to move to other clinical areas and work within own skill levels to best meet the needs of the organisation.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Ability to work alongside / with multidisciplinary team
