MidCentral DHB is a great place to come to consolidate your learning, preparing you for registrar positions. As a medium sized hospital we provide a wide range of opportunities, including tertiary level cancer treatment services.

The city of Palmerston North is very liveable and affordable. 5 – 15 minute commutes are the norm and there is lots to do on your down time.

As a 2nd year House Officer or Senior House Officer you will have the opportunity for 3 to 6 month rotations in:

• Surgical Relief
• Medical Relief

For Senior House Officers there is also the opportunity to apply for the highly desirable SHO positions in ICU.

The House Officers and Senior House Officers are well supported in a collegial environment with Registrars and Senior Medical Officers.

MidCentral DHB requires ALL its employees to be vaccinated against COVID-19. To comply with the current Health Order, applicants must be doubled vaccinated for COVID-19 no later than 1 January 2022 and should have had a booster as from 15 February 2022.
