About the Senior Aptamer Scientist position:

The Senior Aptamer Scientist will lead the research and development of novel aptamer-based sensing chemistry to detect body signals in real-time and continuously in a wearable electrochemistry platform. As an integral part of our senior R&D team, you will design and conduct experiments, lead a team and spearhead the development of the technical strategy and experimental protocols related to aptamer discovery and maturation.

You will have a unique opportunity to contribute to creating wearable sensing technology to empower people with unique health signals in real time by:

Lead aptamer discovery to develop globally leading biomarker sensing chemistry. Lead aptamer maturation to develop a globally leading electrochemical sensing platform. Project manage cross-functional teams through preparation, planning and execution. Generate project plans and timelines and lead project phase gate reviews.

Critical Qualifications, Experience and Skills required for this role include:

PhD in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g. biochemistry, molecular biology, biosensing, biotechnology, electrochemistry, etc). More than three-years experience post-PhD working on aptamers preferably for biosensing. Experience should include designing SELEX protocol, libraries and primers, maturating aptamers and modifying aptamer sequences tailored for a specific sensing capability. Direct lab bench experience on SELEX including optimization and execution of the procedure, PCR, gel electrophoresis, DNA extraction, and DNA purification. Working knowledge on next generation sequencing (NGS) and bioinformatics. Experience on reagent binding assays and analysis of DNA-protein interactions. Relevant experience on electrochemical sensing particularly using aptamer as the detection chemistry.
