As our Inhouse Accountant you will provide financial and taxation advice on business structures, plans and operations of our company and all associated entities and advise on related record keeping and compatibility requirements.
Responsibilities: • Prepare, examine, and analyse accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards; • Document financial transactions by entering account information; • Compute taxes owed and prepare tax returns, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting and other tax requirements; • Analyse business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations, to project future revenues and expenses or to provide advice; • Recommend financial actions by analysing accounting options; • Summarise current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports; • Substantiate financial transactions by auditing documents; • Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures; • Guide accounting clerical staff by coordinating activities and answering questions; • Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analysing account information; • Secure financial information by completing data base backups; • Develop, implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems, making use of current computer technology; • Prepare forms and manuals for accounting and bookkeeping personnel, and direct their work activities; • Survey operations to ascertain accounting needs and to recommend, develop, and maintain solutions to business and financial problems; • Advise management about issues such as resource utilization, tax strategies, and the assumptions underlying budget forecasts; • Advise in areas such as Self-Manage superannuation fund setup, Income Tax Return for Company (including Financial Statement), Income Tax Return for Trust & Partnership, Personal Tax Return, Cash Flow Preparation, Book Keeping, Business advice, Tax Planning, Company setup and Trust setup; • Represent the company before taxing authorities and provide support during litigation involving financial issues.
Skills & Attributes: • Relevant qualification • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a related field • High level of interpersonal skills and communication skills • Demonstrated ability to successfully lead and motivate a team in a fast paced environment • Ability to multi task and work under pressure • Demonstrated passion for excellence, accuracy and urgency • Evidence of a genuine desire to work in a team environment
