What's so exciting about this role?

We have an exciting role in our People & Corporate Affairs (P&CA) team which will see you act as a central point of support, guidance and advice to managers and leaders across the organisation on a range of people matters including IR / ER cases.   You will play an active role in the delivery of P&CA strategic projects and support the delivery of cyclical people activity such as remuneration reviews, talent planning, engagement and the performance management processes. This is a 6 month contract position.

What Does An Average Day Look Like?

No day is average at hummgroup but here’s an idea of what you can expect to do in this role:

• Providing advice and support on people matters including IR / ER and performance management, to leaders across the group  
• Ensure consistent and disciplined application of P&CA tools and frameworks including knowledge sharing across P&CA of new approaches  
• Developing policies and processes that ensure that P&CA meets its obligations and supports the organisation in delivering its objectives 
• Actively participating as part of a cross functional / location teams to deliver on hummgroup’s people strategy 
• Working with the P&CA Coordinators to manage and triage the shared team inbox and acting as the first point of contact for more complex employee queries that may come through.  
• Assisting in the onboarding and induction of new starters to create a positive employee experience 
• Providing support to People Business Partners and other stakeholders on the management of People & Corporate Affairs activities across the annual cycle (e.g. Performance, Reward, Talent, Engagement)

Your key talents include: 

• Attention to detail, and keep an eye on the bigger picture 
• Experience playing an active role in large scale People initiatives 
• Sound knowledge of technical HR areas including employment legislation (NZ and/or Australian)
• Internal consulting experience, preferably in a Corporate environment 
• Strong interpersonal skills and experience of working with leaders across multiple locations
