Position Summary:

Support the activity for Canadian payroll preparation, processing, distribution, and associate data management to ensure data integrity (statutory, contractual, and procedural compliance). This position is ideally suited to a tenured payroll professional that has hands-on experience with complex Canadian payrolls in a multi-province environment.


Shift details: Days, Monday - Friday

Major Responsibilities:

- All payroll activities and responsibilities of payroll processing in Canada

- Serve as internal point of contact for all customer questions around payroll activity

- Analyze pay data and assure procedure/legislative compliance

- Complete ROEs timely and accurately per Service Canada guidelines

- Calculate leave payments in conjunction with an understanding of the policy

- Interact with ADP and have regular interaction with Human Resource Staff to coordinate functional content.

- Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:

- 5-10 years of Canadian payroll experience required

- Certified Payroll Associate certification (PCP) is preferred

- High School diploma or GED equivalent required

- Bachelor’s Degree preferred

- Must have a superior command of Canadian payroll tax law, labor law, benefit plans, audit procedures, and all things related to payroll accuracy and compliance

- Intermediate experience in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel,

- Preferred experience with ADP eTime, Kronos, and ADP Workforce Now

- Requires strong interpersonal and organizational skills

- Ability to multi-task required, this position will monitor many activities and drive increased systems performance and improvement.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills required

- Previous experience with Union Payrolls preferred

- - Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job

- Willingness to travel within district (close geographical area), work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a reference verification (to include past employment and education) are required.
