The PDM Manager (PDMM) is a key leadership role within Microsoft’s partner engagement strategy as part of the One Commercial Partner (OCP) organization. The charter of the PDM Manager is to lead the partner engagement strategy across enablement and growth across the OCP Build-With lifecycle. The role will need to provide leadership to develop required solutions and practices and build partner capacity by working with the managed partner portfolio through the Microsoft Build-With lifecycle, from recruit to grow, aligned to a partner segment. The PDM Manager will recruit, develop and retain a team of high performing Partner Development Managers (PDMs) to manage a portfolio of partners.

 

The PDMM role will work across Microsoft and the OCP organization to ensure partner offerings are aligned to business goals. The seniority of the role evidence Microsoft’s deep commitment to the partner ecosystem to build a mutually beneficial business relationship by working closely with partner senior leadership. The PDM Manager represents Microsoft to the channel, communicates our strategy, sells our vision and

brings partners along in the digital transformation journey. The outcome will be to drive long-term revenue, cloud consumption and digital transformation through a set of practices leading to workload/industry based co-sell.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

 

  • Partner Strategy: Lead the partner engagement strategy across the Microsoft Build-With lifecycle through a team of Partner Development Managers (PDMs). Provide leadership to manage partner account development, partner solution management, and overall partner performance for portfolio of partners. Build high impact relationships with partners’ senior leadership. Lead overall business/sales planning and execution across the team.

 

  • Team Leadership: Recruit, retain and manage a world-class high performing team that will transform and grow partners’ businesses in the cloud and guide partners to build a solutions portfolio aligned with market opportunities. Oversee and be responsible for team commitments and strive for success. Be a team leader who sets aspirational goals and drives team towards success while ensuring effective teaming and coordination between roles and across teams to win business and remove blockers.

 

  • Business Leadership: Lead orchestration across teams (including sales, technical, go-to-market, and channel management) to grow business across the partner portfolio, and drive continuous portfolio optimization of partners’ performance as measured by revenue, pipeline, and partner impact. Secure, coordinate, and manage resources and programs to enable team to grow partners’ practices. Influence subsidiary/area leadership to align strategy and resources to help team achieve targets as measured by consump



Qualifications

Qualifications:

 

  • 10+ years of experience in partner management, sales management, partner channel development, people management, business development, alliance management in the technology industry
    Extensive experience of managing people and virtual teams across functions and geographies:
  • Inclusive and collaborative – driving teamwork, diversity and cross-team alignment
    Strong partner relationship management and solution development skills
    Able to motivate team and manage complex people dynamics
    Strong executive presence including communication and presentation skills with a high degree of comfort to large and small audiences
  • Problem solving mentality leveraging internal and/or external resources, conflict resolution, and follow through with partners
