Job Description

As part of Anna Lorck's team based in Hastings, you'll be stepping into an environment that is unique, exciting, and rewarding. As the Member Support and Communications Advisor, you'll help to ensure everything in the office runs effectively and efficiently. This multifaceted and challenging role will have you helping to manage the constituent contact side of things in the office as well as managing and maintaining communications for Anna; and no two days are the same.

You are great at time management, can pay close attention to detail and able to rank competing priorities with ease. You will be well known for your strong spoken and written language skills, with a knack for communicating even the trickiest of concepts accurately, and to a broad range of stakeholders.

Your friends and whanau describe you as unflappable, proactive and resilient. It goes without saying you're someone who's empathetic and respectful, able to lend your ear to constituents to make them feel heard and supported.

Some of the duties you'll be responsible for include the following:

  • Providing high quality advice and advocacy to the constituents of Tukituki
  • Managing and responding to constituent queries, whether in person, on the phone or by email
  • Producing communications plans and initiatives to engage with constituents
  • Creating excellent communication resources such as press releases, newsletters, and social media and advertising content

You will be well-known for your maturity, and your patient and considerate nature. Joining Team Lorck will see you happy to work autonomously in the office, while being a committed part of Anna's wider team of colleagues. The ability to build strong and trusted relationships is key to being successful in this role.

As an employee of Parliamentary Service, you will be apolitical in your role. Awareness of the political landscape may be beneficial in supporting your MP.

To ensure our people feel supported and enabled to develop their knowledge and careers, you will receive a Parliamentary Service induction which will set you up to succeed within this environment, as well as ongoing learning and development opportunities.

This is an events-based, fixed-term role linked to the MP, working 30 hours per week. Some flexibility in hours may be required.
