Our Operations Advisers are part of 24/7 teams based at the Department of Corrections based in the Auckland region (Penrose). We assist frontline staff in the management of around 6000 electronically monitored defendants and offenders around NZ. Our tight-knit teams are busy, focused and committed to keeping the community safe. The environment is dynamic, fast paced, and energetic.

Any given shift in these teams will involve important responsibilities such as liaising with Police to coordinate a welfare check or the arrest of a high risk individual, assisting a Probation Officer in the management of their offender, or problem-solving over the phone with defendants or offenders who are facing difficult and stressful situations.

This is a demanding role - the phones can be exceptionally busy and no two days will be the same. People who are successful in this role will possess the following attributes:

You will be using GPS technology and software. While training will be provided for these platforms, you must also be competent with Microsoft applications including Outlook, Word, and Excel. Operations Advisers in our teams work on a 8 week rotating shift pattern of 6 days on and 4 days off to provide a 24/7 service 365 days a year.  You will get around 160 days off a year plus five weeks annual leave.  Training will be provided
