The opportunity
We are looking for a Senior Consultant within the Accounting, Compliance & Reporting – Finance Operate team. This role can be based in Sydney or Melbourne.
Our Finance Operate team consists of specialists based across Australia and New Zealand that provide operational finance support, management accounting and management reporting services to a portfolio of clients, ranging from high growth startups, through to multinational and listed entities.
As a consultant in our team you will support our clients with their accounting and reporting obligations, manage the timely delivery of services and work with a team of likeminded enthusiastic professionals operate an effective finance function for clients. You will have the opportunity to strengthen your practical accounting experience, enhance your project management skills as well as build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
Your key responsibilities
As a financial operations specialist, you will support our clients with their outsourced accounting and reporting obligations
Work with our transaction processing team to ensure timely delivery of client services
Assist with financial planning and analysis procedures and the preparation of management reports
Drive the budgeting, forecasting and analysis process for your portfolio of clients
Identify areas of improvement for our clients and assist with the design and implementation of solutions
Work with national and multinational clients, to deliver quality services and support the management team to grow the business through key strategic initiatives including operational excellence, market expansion, talent development, client leadership and business transformation
Perform data analytics and bring insight to client financial information
Skills and attributes for success
2 years’ experience in an operational finance role, with experience in month-end procedures and management reporting, or 2 years’ experience in public accounting
Completed or in the process of completing CA or CPA qualifications
Ability to work effectively either as an individual or member of a team and relate effectively with staff on all levels
Strong commercial acumen and a solid understanding of financial processes
Proactive and able to identify and resolve problems, with attention to detail
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Thrive in a fast moving, high pressure environment
Ideally, you’ll also have
Experience with common accounting packages (MYOB, Xero, Sage, NetSuite etc)
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and PowerBI highly desirable
Experience in automation and data analysis
Skillsets other than those in financial operations that would compliment our client services would be advantageous
