As a valued member of the Assure Programs (part of the APM Group) team, you will provide urgent psychological services (EAP) through an out-of-hours telephone support service. This role offers flexibility and can be a great 'top up' to your existing professional activity. You can be based anywhere in Australia to be eligible.
We have a reputation for excellence and we’re hoping for an enthusiastic and capable professional to join and become a brand advocate for the services we provide to our clients after hours.
What does an On-Call Clinician do?
The On-Call service operates on a roster basis covering weeknights and weekends. We have a variety of shifts available depending on your availability and are happy to consider even minimum availability. Available shift times are between Monday to Friday 5:00pm to 8:30am, and Saturday / Sunday shifts are 24 hour shifts starting 8:30am (e.g. Sat 8:30am to Sun 8:30am).
As one of two Clinicians on each shift, calls are transferred to your mobile phone (provided) and the time on each call will vary, dependent on the client's needs. Whether a 15, 30 or 60 minute call, you will use your professional discretion and expertise to manage that call time. Only high level, brief case notes are required, no extensive report writing is required.
Remuneration is based on an annual salary including a shift allowance and hourly rate, also offering paid time for debriefing if needed. Mobile phone and (paid) process training is provided.
In this home-based role, the level of service delivery will vary according to customer needs including EAP counselling, psychological interventions, and critical incident management services.
What does it take to become an On-Call Clinician?
As a qualified Psychologist with general AHPRA registration OR Mental Health Accredited Social Worker, you will bring 5 years (minimum) relevant clinical experience and a committed, can-do attitude.
A curious mind, empathy and good listening skills are essential, combined with competent admin skills to follow through with procedures accurately and efficiently.
