About Us
Golf New Zealand is a not-for profit charitable trust established in 1910 as the governing body for golf in New Zealand responsible for leading, growing and supporting the game. Golf is the most played sport in New Zealand with over half a million Kiwis playing each year at one of the 390 clubs throughout the country.

The Position
We are looking for a superstar administrator for our Remuera office. This role will provide a range of administrative support to our amazing team at Golf New Zealand and be the first point of contact for our customers and other key stakeholders.

 

Core Functions

  • Lead the office administration functions at the home of golf in New Zealand.
  • Provide exceptional customer service.
  • Provide administrative support to various team members.

 

Key Responsibilities

  1. Leading the smooth running and effective operation of the Golf New Zealand office including:
    - answering the phones, managing customer emails and administration of the online shop.
    - organising mail/couriers/deliveries and onsite meetings.
    - ensuring the office is kept clean, tidy, and presentable.
    - ordering of stock and any office supplies needed.
  2. Proactively managing group diary for all team members, meetings, events, and tournaments.
  3. Keeping staff and all other appropriate stakeholders briefed and informed where appropriate.
  4. General administrative, logistical, and clerical support to all areas of business where appropriate.
  5. Aiding with hosting guests and event management at internal and external events.
  6. Taking the daily lead for the organisation with regards to health, safety, and wellbeing.
  7. Bonus points for being able to lead the internal management of phones, vehicles and general technology requirements.

Specialist Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience

  • Good general computer skills with intermediate level experience of Microsoft Office products and some experience with Xero an advantage.
  • Effective communication and organisational skills along with a team work ethic and a good sense of humour. 
  • Several years of previous administration experience is required and experience in the golf or sporting industries would be useful. 
  • Must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand.

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills. 
  • Outstanding attention to detail and accuracy.
  • A pro-active "can-do" attitude and wants the opportunity to tackle a variety of tasks.
  • Is energetic, highly motivated, enthusiastic, and considerate. 
  • Enjoys problem solving and taking initiative.
  • Willingness to continually learn and improve.
  • Passionate about sport with an interest in golf is ideal but not a deal breaker.
