About the team

Working in a dynamic and evolving community/inpatient interdisciplinary team, you will be part of an experienced supportive team, planning and providing rehabilitation to our diverse patients who are predominantly under the age of 65.

We take pride in supporting our staff to grow and we enable ongoing professional development including regular team in-services, senior staff mentoring and peer review and access to course and conference funding. We support student education throughout clinical placements.

You will have the opportunity to develop your knowledge and expertise in rehabilitation with medical, orthopaedic and neurological conditions including stroke. You will also have the opportunity to support, teach and upskill students.

About you

As a senior Occupational Therapist, ideally you bring a minimum of three to five years occupational therapy experience that includes working in a rehabilitation setting with patients with stroke and other neurological conditions. Experience with orthopaedic conditions, TBI, return to work programs and assessment, prescription and training for manual and power wheelchairs is also an advantage.

You demonstrate a strong understanding of rehabilitation and optimising patient outcomes and facilitating effective discharge planning, using a patient centred and evidence-based approach to goal setting and intervention.

In addition, you will have enthusiasm and a willingness to commit to our team and patients. You will be expected to be active in service quality initiatives, therefore be proactive, innovative and have a quality driven leadership approach.

For this permanent role covering the service, you will need to be a New Zealand registered occupational therapist with a current annual practising certificate
