Where you’ll be working: Waikato Hospital

The details: Permanent – 80 hours per fortnight

Our Mental Health and Addictions Services are currently undergoing significant change and development. The timing of this position becoming vacant represents a unique opportunity to join an existing and well established team of leaders in the sector, as we work to plan and reshape the way we meet our communities mental health and addictions needs in inpatient, community, rural and urban settings. Our services include adult, forensic, infant child and adolescent, older persons, specialist addictions, eating disorders, DBT and peri-natal teams.

Reporting to the Services Director, Mental Health and Addictions Services, our Nurse Director has a professional reporting line directly to the Chief Nurse and is responsible for delivering aspects of the Mental Health and Addictions Service (MHAS) service plan that involve nurses.

This role has a critical part to play in shaping the future direction of mental health and addictions nursing in the Waikato and our developing service culture, as well as providing strong leadership and professional direction to our nursing workforce.

This is a challenging but highly rewarding role with opportunities for growth for the right candidate. We are looking for a highly competent, pro-active, leader who will help us grow our nursing workforce of the future, actively contribute to our service planning and delivery, develop strong relationships with our system, sector and educational partners, support the development and delivery of our ongoing learning and development structure and help us implement the changes we need to make to achieve our vision for mental health and addictions services for the people of the Waikato.
