Job Description

This role provides an opportunity for the successful candidate to combine their knowledge of change management, business transformation, network and operations experience in order to implement process improvements Bell Canada’s Network organization. A passion for business process improvement, leading changes and facilitating changes will be cornerstones for this role.

 Job Duties/ Accountabilities:

The Specialist Network engineer is tasked with all elements the Network speed test platforms, including managing Network support. A key component of this role will be to facilitate and implement change to improve

Internet Speeds and Gaming Index indicators efficiency, while ensuring that the customer experience improves. As such, responsibilities would include:

  • Identify improvement opportunities and implement changes which will ensure a great customer experience
  • Track the evolution of the speed tests servers life cycle, from introduction to decommissioning in collaboration with other business units
  • Working collaboratively with teams across the company, with a focus on residential customers
  • Identify risks in the ongoing support of the capability and define the optimal balance between risk mitigation and customer experience
  • Follow fact-based recommendations on how to improve the customer experience or reduce costs, including triggering migration activities to from legacy platforms
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to forecast expenses
  • Using collaborative technologies, make issues visible to all Network teams when required
  • Provide support to other Business Units on negotiations with partners/vendors to secure beneficial agreements

Required Qualifications/ Competencies:

  • Demonstrated ability to lead transformation with an understanding of end-to-end processes and a propensity to dispute the status quo
  • Business, Engineering, Information Systems or Computer Science degree. A combination of equivalent education and experience will also be considered.
  • Possess strong leadership skills to work in collaboration with business units
  • Understanding of Bell Canada/Bell Mobility product portfolio
  • Operational experience - evaluates complex processes, identifies solutions and implements change
  • Analysis - reasons logically and accurately with financial, numerical and statistical information; simplifies complex problems, processes or projects into component parts, to explore and evaluate them systematically
  • Communication (written and verbal) - writes structured documents which require minimal editing/oversight; presents complex concepts in a coherent and accessible format to senior management.
  • Experience with lean, agile and Kanban approaches and implementation
