In this role you will need to be comfortable operating in a standalone capacity managing day to day HR operational requirements. 

This role sits on the senior leadership team and is responsible for delivering all aspects of HR across the full employment life cycle including: recruitment, developing and retaining talent, compensation and benefits planning, employment regulations, employee relations, WHS and HR Administration. You will therefore be comfortable operating in a standalone capacity and have the confidence, judgement and interpersonal skills to partner with a wide range of stakeholders. 

This role reports into the HR Director of Retail based in the USA and has a strong partnership with the Australian Managing Director of ihear. We have a strong three (3) year business growth strategy that will see us expand our footprint across Australia.

Key Criteria:

This is a unique opportunity for someone who has an interest in all areas of human resources with the ability to learn, develop and grow with the position as our company grows. The successful candidate would have a ‘can do’ mindset and a willingness to ‘roll up their sleeves’ to support employees at all levels with operational and strategic requirements:

  • Must have tertiary qualifications in Business, Psychology, Human Resources or similar
  • Strong internal recruitment experience and confidence to challenge and/or support hiring decisions
  • Oversee and inform changes to payroll; working with outsourced provider to ensure accuracy and meeting Award, Contract and NES requirements
  • Professional, with high emotional intelligence and strong interest in influencing outcomes
  • A commercial thinker, someone who can think ahead and coach leaders on mitigating strategies and opportunities for the better of the organization
  • Confidence and judgement in performance management processes, you will be the referral point for legal issues and need strong advisory skills
  • Ability to handle employee relations and advise and guide management through various situations that arise in the work place
  • Ability to execute on strategic initiatives as determined and partnered with by Senior Leadership
  • Ability to prioritize and values a variety in day-to-day work
  • Strong attention to detail and a focus on taking action to close out tasks
  • Motivation to develop your career and see challenges as opportunities!
