This role is FTE 1.0 however we are looking at a possible job share opportunity.

We have a unique opportunity to be part of an influential role in maternity care, developing support for vulnerable families and integration with other providers!

We are improving support services for women and their families who have complex social issues during pregnancy.

We are currently looking for a Midwife with an interest in supporting health professionals to work more effectively with vulnerable families, with a view to more integrated services and better collaboration between agencies.

You will be part of the multidisciplinary team, providing safe, effective and timely midwifery care to women, babies and their family/whanau. You will need to be an experienced midwife and have a clear understanding of maternity care in New Zealand and the choices available to women.

As a key part of your role is liaison and advice to maternity clinicians, it is essential that you have:

• commitment to women's health, with a woman and whanau centred focus
• Contemporary midwifery knowledge and skills
• understanding of the legislation that supports child protection and the Privacy Act
• excellent communication and customer service practices
• systematic approach to referrals, documentation and skilled in time management
• You will need to be self-managing.
