Summary of Post

HLS at the University of Exeter (UoE) is seeking an ambitious individual to join our growing statistical community, working collaboratively with research teams locally, nationally and internationally, on our expanding research portfolio.

Working as part of the NIHR Exeter Biomedical Research Centre (NIHR Exeter BRC) and ExeCTU, you will work with senior statisticians to provide expert statistical support for research projects within the Faculty . You will provide high-quality statistical input to a range of research applications/projects/activities and work on a variety of study types, including randomised controlled trials, cluster randomised trials, meta-analyses and observational studies. You will also participate in methodological research studies addressing statistical challenges.

You may also contribute to teaching statistics on undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses and / or running statistics for researchers. Depending on the role, you may also participate in running statistics clinics to provide statistical support to Faculty researchers and PhD students.

ExeCTU

ExeCTU is a UKCRC fully-registered unit, working in collaboration with researchers and clinicians in the design and delivery of high quality and efficient multi-centre trials and other well-designed studies addressing important health questions to improve health and well-being. Our study portfolio includes trials in dementia, orthopaedics, emergency medicine and COVID-19, evaluating medicines, surgical techniques and complex interventions.

NIHR Exeter BRC

The NIHR Exeter BRC is a brand new biomedical research facility, the first in the South West of England, with collaborations between the UoE and NHS organisations across the South West. The Centre will focus on five major themes that all aim to improve how we diagnose, treat, and care for people: neurodegeneration, rehabilitation, diabetes, genetics and clinical mycology.
