Job Description

About our Radiology service:

Our Radiology Department has well established links into all specialties and sub-specialties and clinical teams across the Waikato District Health Board, including providing imaging support for a Level 1 Major Trauma Centre.

We have state of the art facilities with some equipment being the first of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere. Our capital plan extending out to 2024/2025 takes into account every piece of equipment we own and when it needs replacing.

The breadth and scope of cases presented is remarkable with an interesting and varied case mix. Unique infections, indigenous health, rural health – Waikato has it all and what some practitioners from other locations envy.

The Waikato DHB’s Radiology Department is growing our service to meet growing demand and is focused on creating a positive culture and great work environment for all of our staff.

 About the role:

We are searching for experienced and talented Medical Imaging Technologists (Radiographers) to join our dynamic team. We provide flexible working arrangements to ensure our team can maintain their work/life balance.

There are unique benefits to working in the Waikato DHB Radiology Department. This includes working with cutting edge technology, access to training and career opportunities, affordable housing, a central living location, and the option to work at one of our rural hospital locations.

COVID-19:

The Waikato District Health Board Health & Safety has a policy that includes ensuring that you comply with the Health Order announced 11 October 2021 and with the Waikato DHB’s Vaccine Preventable Diseases for Employees policy. The policy prescribes the required vaccinations including COVID19 for all employees of Waikato DHB. COVID-19 vaccinations are mandatory before you commence employment.

 Required skills & experience:

  • have full registration with the New Zealand Medical ImagingTechnologist Board with a general scope of practice and have a current practising certificate
  • have good communication skills
  • have excellent interpersonal and team skills
  • be committed to improving service performance
