Seeking a Marine Scientist / Metocean Engineer based out of Fremantle, WA.

EGS are a Perth/Fremantle based ocean survey company who specialise in Geophysical, Hydrographic, Metocean and a range of other marine science disciplines.

EGS are seeking a candidate that has:

• Familiarity handling and processing Metocean data i.e., Ocean current, tide, CTD, Meteorological etc.
• Marine experience i.e., on water/boat experience (coxswain certificate preferred)
• Computer literacy – comfortable processing data third party software, MS Excel etc. (Python experience preferred not essential)
• Report writing – ability to write scientific reports to a high standard. High competence with MS Word.

The role will be working out of our Fremantle office. The primary role will be managing, and processing data acquired from several Metocean system EGS have deployed in Northern Australia. Periodically you will be needed to travel to site to assist with annual maintenance of our equipment on site. You will be working closes with our field teams to ensure smooth operation of field equipment.

Secondarily, you will supporting other projects from the office and assisting with the management of metocean equipment kept in EGS Fremantle warehouse i.e. SVP, CTD, Water level recorders, ADCP etc.

Opportunities to get involved with Geophysical, hydrographic, and other site activities will be possible if there is interest.

Down the track, the as the USV is deployed to site, the operator will be required to assist in the field.

EGS Perth have a casual working environment in Fremantle with possibility of working from home at times. Working hours are flexible but we are seeking 38 hours a week for this role. It is preferred if the applicant can travel away on occasion to assist with field operations. EGS have a base salary and site day uplift component.
