What is the Opportunity?
An exciting opportunity where you will prepare and deliver timely monthly, quarterly and annual Financial Reporting results for Capital Markets (CM) Securitization Finance business groups.
You will also partner with Securitization Finance business and Middle Office in managing projects, new initiatives and any ad hoc requests.
You will be a key member of the Financial Control (FC) group and involved in interpreting and understanding accounting concepts and guidance with the goal of ensuring the accuracy and reliability of reported financial information.
The ideal candidate will have an accounting mindset, be able to convey their analyses clearly/concisely and think critically.
What will you do?
Prepare and ensure accurate and complete Financial and Regulatory Reporting for CM Securitization Finance businesses including MD&A, B/S, P&L, Note disclosures and supplemental formats.
Review of monthly GL data, financial results and reconciliations to ensure accuracy, including monitoring of intergroup activity.
Review and ensure new products and transactions are appropriately captured in RBC financial systems, including the appropriate use of GLs and Financial Statement reporting lines.
Provide meaningful analysis of financial results to Platform and Head office, assisting them in evaluating reported information.
Assist in the investigation of all financial and regulatory accounting and reporting matters. Become the point person for technical knowledge over Securitization Finance and keep abreast of all new accounting developments.
Support the operational execution and implementation of new business initiatives. Assess related financial accounting and reporting impact, coordinate and execute implementation plan by partnering with other RBC stakeholders including the business, Product Control, Operations and Accounting Policy Group.
Manage annual Securitization Finance conduit audits and partner with RBC Middle Office team to assist with internal/external auditor requests, including reviewing financial statements and providing accounting guidance over disclosures and related matters.
Ensure SOX and RBC EUDA documentation compliance and completeness including any new controls/processes.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
Professional Accounting/Finance designation (CPA, CA preferred)
3+ years of experience in a public accounting environment or an accounting/finance related role
Knowledge of IFRS in particular with financial instruments, together with a willingness and interest in broadening that knowledge
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and manage numerous priorities simultaneously
Adept in working with large volumes of data in an Excel environment, along with advanced user proficiency with other computer applications such as Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint

Technical competence in Securitization Finance accounting
