Job Description

As Manager, Underwriting and Claims Assistance Centre, you’ll engage your team whose mandate is to gather, analyze and interpret a variety of information in order to assist clients with their new insurance applications or insurance claims (life, disability and critical illness).  You’ll help with your team’s development by providing regular coaching so they can support clients and simplify the insurance process, while offering a superior client experience.  

Your role

  • Ensure your team’s wellbeing and their continuous engagement
  • As an involved leader, ensure operations run smoothly, motivate employees to reach business plan objectives and aim for a client- and employee-centric culture
  • Offer personalized coaching to team members
  • Oversee the development and performance management of your team
  • Set up the actions required so the entire team can offer a superior client experience
  • Carry out various mandates, analyses and special projects that have a major impact on the quality of customer service, profitability and engagement
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with the various stakeholders and partners involved in the Centre’s activities

You’ll also carry out various end-to-end projects that impact different sectors including your team, the underwriting and insurance claims team and the Client Contact Centre.

You’ll be responsible for a team that is transforming where the roles of 12 agents and 3 coaches are changing. You’ll report to the Manager, Underwriting and Claims Assistance. Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and 6 years of relevant experience, OR master's degree and 4 years of relevant experience, OR undergraduate diploma from the National Bank University Program and 7 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in personnel management and coaching
  • Experience in call centres, desirable
  • Knowledge of the life insurance industry, desirable
  • Bilingualism, both spoken and written (English and French)

  • Excellent communication skills  Highly adaptable and solid change management skills Independence and sense of initiative
