What is the opportunity?
The Manager, Talent Acquisition Technology is responsible for the application support and digital product management of talent acquisition products. This particular role will manage Phenom (RBC’s external candidate portal) and all the digital products and subscriptions that integrate with Phenom. The role is responsible for the enhancement, improvement and continuing health of the Phenom product.
Phenom is our main technology interface with candidates and is the engine that drives the distribution and advertising of RBC jobs online. The Manager Talent Acquisition Technology partners with the Talent Acquisition Team and the Recruitment Marketing Team to ensure RBC has a candidate portal that provides a positive and engaging experience for candidates. The Manager Talent Acquisition Technology also works very closely with the Workday Sustainment Team to ensure that the Phenom product is in sync with Workday and able to reliably facilitate flow of candidate applications so that the RBC Recruiting Community is assured of a robust candidate pool.
The role has key relationships with: the technology vendor (Phenom), Talent Acquisition Team, Marketing Team, Workday Sustainment Team, and multiple IT partners (IT Risk, IT Production Support, etc.). This role will have a hybrid work arrangement.
What will you do?
Digital Product “Health and Wellnessâ€
Work closely with the Workday Domain Lead so that Phenom and Workday are always in synch and operating in harmony. The role ensures that all dependent processes between the 2 systems are kept intact and shared data elements are in sync. Any changes in Workday that impact the candidate front end experience will need to be managed to ensure there’s no breakdown in the candidate experience and applications flow through without errors.
Manage the periodic releases of Phenom
Work with internal RBC partners to ensure the product is compliant with RBC standards and that any technical risks are managed and addressed.
Support and Issue Management
Provide primary and escalated support for all Phenom issues; troubleshoot and investigate the issues and work with the vendor and/or internal IT partners in getting them resolved.
Responsible for user set up for Phenom CRM and the other digital products/subscriptions that integrate with Phenom (example: LinkedIn)
Ensure any Phenom technical issues whether they are planned maintenance or unplanned system issues are managed and communicated to the Talent Acquisition Team and Marketing Team so that they can manage job posting and recruitment campaigns accordingly.
For issues that have dependencies between Workday and Phenom, work with the Workday Domain Lead in defining and resolving dependencies, issues and risks
Continuous product improvement and enhancement
With inputs from Talent Acquisition and Marketing Teams, collaborate with the Digital HR Solutions Leadership team in creating a product roadmap and prioritizing projects for implementation
Partner with the Talent Acquisition Team and the Marketing Team to understand and anticipate their needs, and translate these into product requirements
Working with the vendor and internal partners, implement the enhancements and projects in the product roadmap.
With the vendor as the development team, the Manager Talent Acquisition Technology is responsible for gathering and development of requirements, design development, testing, management of production deployment and PIV.
Monitor and evaluate progress at each stage of the process; communicate this progress to stakeholders.
What do you need to succeed?
Must Have
Business Analyst or Technical Analyst experience or comparable experience. This is a hands-on role that will leverage a lot of the skills that an analyst would have: requirements gathering and development, discovering user needs, working with technical team in implementing enhancements, etc.
Excellent communication skills are required since the Manager Talent Acquisition Technology has to communicate with stakeholders from Talent Acquisition and Marketing Teams and work with the vendor leadership team and the development team
Strong organizational skills. Ability to maintain a keen attention to detail and manage work with sometimes competing urgency and priority.
Strong Problem solving skills. Can troubleshoot and diagnose issues; demonstrated experience in collaborating with various technical and business partners to develop resolution to the issue
Technical aptitude. Can easily understand how technology enables things/business processes
Experience managing projects or initiatives. Role will require monitoring and overseeing progress of vendor work and ensuring clear outcomes are managed. The experience does not need to be with large projects, but the idea of working with clear timelines, milestones and outcomes should not be a strange concept.
Nice to have
Has an appreciation of user-centered design principles whether obtained from formal learning or just an intuitive and empathetic understanding of the candidate experience, as the main user of the portal is the candidate.
Experience in the Recruiting space. Phenom is a candidate-apply product and an understanding of the candidate-apply process will provide a good foundation knowledge for someone to ease into the role.
Marketing experience, particularly recruitment marketing or promoting jobs or employer branding experience
Previous experience as a product owner
Application support experience
