WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY

RBC Global Asset Management is looking for a Software Engineering & QA manager to join our technology team and champion the accelerated adoption of public and private cloud.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- Lead, coach and mentor a team of 15 developers and QA engineers across several agile squads.
- Grow the team’s capabilities through cross training and recruiting the right external talent.
- Form successful partnership with GAM Technology and enterprise DevOps, Engineering, Architecture and InfoSec teams.
- Share your passion for new technology trends, actively participate in internal & external technology communities. Encourage team to leverage and contribute to RBC InnerSource projects.
- Manage a portfolio of internally developed products, shared services and vendor product integrations, supporting RBC GAM’s Institutional and Individual investor business partners.
- Provide input in GAM’s Technology Platform Modernization program. Plan and execute redesign and migrations of legacy applications and services.
- Accelerate automation of our QA and DevOps processes, remove obstacles and focus on increasing team productivity and effectiveness.
- Ensure quality is built into the development process
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?
Must have:
- Proven track record in leading and coaching a full stack software and QA engineering teams
- Ability to collaborate and build effective relationships with technology and business partners
- Hands on experience with designing, developing and managing large scale software products deployed on internal and public cloud (Azure, OpenShift, and/or Pivotal Cloud Foundry)
- Experience with CI/CD pipeline and DevOps tools like GitHub, Jenkins, Urban Code Deploy
- Good understanding and knowledge of QA automation tools
Nice-to-have:
- Experience and understanding of the financial industry
- At least 7 years of hands on application design and development experience (C# / Java, T-SQL and front end JavaScript frameworks, like Angular, Vue, or React)
