Job Description
P&L production, accounting entries, month-end reporting and reconciliation
Act as the primary point person for all Front Office queries and issues and effectively monitor, track, and complete tasks in a timely fashion
Perform valuation and analyze MTM movements of swaps, bonds and securitized products in the trading book by measuring the impact of new deals, amendments, cancellations as well as changes in yield curves, rate reset and time decay where applicable
Submit all monthly accounting entries to the general ledger and conduct reconciliations to ensure figures are accurate and complete and properly tied back to the systems of records. Ensure there are key controls in place to attest to the integrity of Corporate Treasury P&L.
Communication of monthly Securitization P&L results to the Desk Head, compare P&L Estimate vs. Actual results –explain variances and obtain sign-off
Provide support to Statutory and Regulatory Reporting and Head Office as it relates to the business – filling out relevant templates and providing adequate back up on a monthly basis.
Identify opportunities to improve valuation and risk reports and pro-actively streamline processes to improve productivity
Perform daily PNL and Balance Sheet reconciliations to ensure figures are properly tied back to the systems of records
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
BA / BS or equivalent with emphasis in finance, economics or other quantitative discipline
3+ years of experience in a sophisticated Finance environment with an understanding of retail banking products
Strong analytical, problem solving, interpersonal and communication skills.
Above average quantitative and PC skills an asset; Database, programming skills a plus
Ability to work effectively and reliably under pressure
Nice-to-have
Working knowledge of database design concepts
Experience relating to data analytics and visualization
Continuous improvement and innovation mindset
Solid understanding of procedures and operational controls as they relate to Canadian Banking
Job Summary
As a Manager, Product Control, you will be responsible to provide quality analytical support to the Capital Markets’ Mortgage Investment Group and Corporate Treasury Product Control area by performing mark-to-market valuation, P&L reconciliation and reporting on an accurate and timely basis. Become SME for the Securitization business unit.
