What is the opportunity?

In alignment with RBC’s collective ambition to “Win as One RBC”, the role of the Manager, Performance Analytics and Reporting supports the Director – Regional Support & Executive Dashboards, and Distribution Analytics team in their ability to execute P&CB Regional Banking strategy and drive achievement of in-year objectives.

The Distribution Analytics team collaborates with product/channel groups, Regional Banking leaders and teams across Canadian Banking National Office to help drive business results by providing relevant and timely reporting and analysis supporting both Retail and Business areas. You will work directly with Regional Banking leadership to develop, design, implement and manage Executive reporting that support strategic priorities. In addition, you will also help guide and shape strategic choices across the Regional Banking reporting and analytic ecosystem, deliver ad-hoc analytics, and be a subject matter data expert.

What will you do?

• Drive business results by the design, development and production of insightful Executive reporting that aligns with, and supports Regional Banking strategic priorities. Leverage financial acumen to synthesizes and distil key information to enable faster Senior Management decision making and assists in establishment of action plans to maximize business performance.
• As a subject matter expert, provides expert support and analyses around ADHOC deep dive requests resulting from Regional and Executive enquiries. Sourcing relevant data, performing in-depth analysis and presenting actionable insights to stakeholders in a timely and effective manner.
• Deliver complete, accurate and timely Executive Regional Banking reporting by channel, role, product, and region that enable the business to meet their short and long term goals.
• Interact with senior business and regional leadership to understand business and Regional Banking objectives, in order to continue to evolve and maximize effectiveness and align reporting and analytics to meet those objectives.
• Investigate industry trends and organization knowledge to provide alternative reporting approaches/solutions that will drive performance to improve Regional Banking analytics across role, channel, product and region.
• Review and leverages internal and external data/information to provide insights and context around impactful/actionable/controllable business performance opportunities

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:

• Strong business and financial acumen with proven analytical, communication and presentation skills;
• Experience in financial services industry with broad understanding of retail and commercial roles, incentive, sales, distribution, and finance
• Proven, superior, technical experience with very large data sets from multiple sources
• Excellent technical skills in Tableau, Excel, and PowerPoint,
• A self-starter with attention to detail and is highly organized
• Analytical thinking – creative, innovative and strategic thinking, ability to conceptualize requirements, and strong problem solving required

Nice to have:

• Familiar with a range of statistical data tools - strong data profiling, cleaning, and mining. (SAS, SQL, Python, R) preferred but not required.
