What is the opportunity?
In this role you will report to the Senior Manager, Payments and Digital Commerce Strategy and collaborate with cross-functional colleagues to articulate and help drive our strategy in the digital payments and commerce landscape. You will research, analyze and identify trends in this exciting and fast changing industry landscape, helping to connect the dots to ensure RBC’s strategies continue to evolve and capitalize on emerging opportunities.
What will you do?
- Research, analyze and develop perspectives on payments industry trends – including key industry launches, partnerships, and acquisitions
- Collaborate with leadership and key stakeholders to support and create material for Enterprise Payments QBR’s and other Payments enablement activities
- Build, maintain, and present strong data analysis, and communicate meaningful insights that inform strategy and action
- Become a subject matter expert on payments data and how it can be leveraged to drive meaningful business insights
- Identify ways to streamline processes, business reporting, etc. to drive efficiencies & impact
- Contribute to advancing Enterprise Payments, CP&B, and BFS’s payments priorities and objectives – providing support on ad-hoc initiatives and strategies as required
- Develop deep expertise and understanding of payments and the competitive landscape to drive innovative thinking and differentiation
- Build strong relationships across Enterprise Payments, various lines of businesses, Enterprise Strategy, RBC Ventures and various innovation groups to drive cross-enterprise alignment

- Strong critical thinking skills and a passion for solving ambiguous and complex business issues
- Expert quantitative skills – comfort working with data, analysis, insight generation, visualization, and presentation of data trends/ insights
- Ability to digest new information and data and structure thought into clear, insightful messages for senior executive audiences
- Data first problem solver with strong excel and financial modeling skills – for Quarterly Business Review, business case and KPI development/ reporting
- Ability to understand business drivers and key trends (market, industry, enterprise analysis)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (non-verbal and verbal)
- Comfort with ambiguity and highly adaptable
- Strong collaboration skills, ability to grasp new concepts quickly, and lead cross-functional teams
Nice to Have:
- Knowledge of that Payment and Digital Commerce industry
- Experience with Fintech companies or strategic partnership type roles
- Previous strategy experience (either internally or externally)
