Ko tā mātou mahi - Our Role

As Manager Payables you will lead the Payables team who are responsible for ensuring the integrity of our payment processes, managing risk and ensuring payments are made accurately and on time. This role has leadership accountability with a focus on date driven performance, customer centric approach and strong business collaborating including;

  • Lead the strategic direction of the Payables team, ensure key business outcomes are delivered; driving agreed changes or process re-engineering to improve business practices
  • Responsible for end to end Payables process and related functions
  • Manage Controls; maintain a robust Payables control environment, ensuring key controls are agreed and implemented
  • Lead Process Excellence / Continuous Improvement Framework, supporting improvement of the Payables process, policies and procedures in collaboration with key stakeholders
  • Use advanced networking skills to identify, develop, maintain and promote trusting, strategic relationships with wider business group in support of improved customer and supplier outcomes
  • Support Shared Services Leadership Team to review the important metrics related to the Payables function and provide commentaries where required
  • Develop and deliver training and information content related to the Payables process

 

Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu - What you will bring

  • Tertiary level qualification in Accounting, Finance or Management
  • 5+ years of management and leadership experience
  • Demonstrated track record of successful interaction with Senior organisational leaders
  • Experience in leading Payables activities across a large complex organisation, including operating under Service Level Agreement (SLA), Key Performance Indicators (KPI), and performance metrics and monitoring for in scope activities
  • Senior Experience with computerised Payables modules in an ERP environment
  • Ideally Six Sigma, Lean Accounting, Project Management or Process Improvement certifications
  • Strong customer service orientation with excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical or financial information to a non-technical audience
  • Demonstrable ability to lead, coach, and develop the team to drive performance improvement and deliver objectives
