Job Description

  • Provide Support to the Senior Manager and/or the Director while implementing logistic support for various events the team is engaged with, such as quarterly town halls, forums and meetings on behalf of internal partners.   This includes, but is not limited to: negotiating supplier/vendor contracts; collaborating on the event theme design, coordinate event production schedules and logistical details as appropriate for each event.  
  • Work in collaboration with other Event Managers and internal clients to help with the design and management of selected RBC events.
  • Build positive relationships with client groups by demonstrating competence and creativity in supporting their event requirements.
  • Communicate with internal partners and internal & external suppliers in a skilled and professional manner.
  • Support with the management of all supplier activity during events, including, but not limited to, facility staff, florists, décor vendors and entertainment.
  • Analyze and produce event related communications including reports, critical paths, pre-event plans, registration and proposals and budgets and post-event summaries.
  • Manage the collection of content for the meeting/event including; PPT, video, external speaker presentations, banners, logos, Mobile app
  • Contribute to the maintenance of the Meetings & Events Team RBCnet website and RBC Connect websites and research, write and grow the content, including templates and tutorials.
  • Keep current on industry news and trends.

What you need to Succeed?

Must Have

  • Degree/diploma or equivalent in event management or hospitality
  • 4 years+ of work experience in meeting/event planning.
  • Ability to work very effectively and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong planning, organization and problem solving skills in order to manage multiple projects, with the ability to identify challenges and propose solutions
  • Communication and verbal and written communications skills; strong customer service orientation; ability to interact effectively with senior level management.
  • Flexible attitude, teamwork and cooperation skills; collaboration, relationship building skills, sound judgement, diplomacy and discretion.
  • Ability and willingness to travel within the GTA area for various event locations/sites.
  • Event Management/Registration tools experience: TemboSocial, Cvent, Survey Monkey, Limelight, QuickMobile App

Nice to Have

  • CMP Preferred or working towards CMP designation

Job Summary

As Manager, Meetings & Events, you will support the Meetings & Events team, specifically the Senior Manager and Director with the co-ordination of internal and external RBC events, conferences and meetings on behalf of internal partners.

As the on-site support for selected events you will play an integral role by co-ordinating event schedules, operate Webcasts or WebEx components, help set-up various aspects of the meeting or event in order to achieve the team’s goal to design and deliver best in class events that enhance the RBC Brand
