What is the opportunity?
Global QI Compliance, Tax Support provides practical operational support to a range of regulatory areas such as QI, FATCA & CRS. The primary function of the team is governance of the QI Compliance Program.
In this role you will support the implementation of projects & programs, regulatory changes, crisis management & initiatives affecting tax operations globally, as well as the ongoing governance of global regulatory tax control frameworks (FATCA, CRS & Qualified Intermediary.)
What will you do?
- Support Associate Director, Global QI Compliance on all aspects of the global QI compliance program and framework;
- Represent Tax Operations within enterprise programmes & projects (at all stages from design to implementation);
- Responsible to determine the operational impact on Tax Operations and RBC I&TS clients from external regulatory and market tax changes;
- Responsible to ensure Tax Operations are ready to implement any required processing changes resulting from external regulatory and market tax changes;
- Support any control processes required to oversee regulatory tax responsibilities (including the FATCA, CRS and Qualified Intermediary Global Control Framework to support the Enterprise regulatory obligation and the FATCA and QI Responsible Officers
- In partnership with the impacted processing teams, oversee the implementation of any Client Solution & Tax Product driven tax operational change;
- Represent RBC I&TS Client Operations on operational tax related industry groups where appropriate;
- Responsible to provide or validate any operational tax content on client communications;
- Provide guidance with the resolution of related operational tax client enquires and attend client meetings where required;
- Provide processing support to Tax Operations in crisis situations, high volume periods & seasonal peaks; and be a representative of Client Operations on topics or issues affecting the Canadian office, as required
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Extensive knowledge of QI, FATCA & CRS regulations
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office applications such as Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word
- Superior interpersonal and networking skills with a proven track record of dealing with clients, industry associations, senior management, colleagues, regulators
- Process Management / Risk mitigation
- Superior communications, presentation and negotiation skills
- Strong Business Analytical skills with an ability to lead initiatives and projects
- Strong business acumen and profit orientation
- Ability to work under pressure, manage workloads and time efficiently to meet stringent deadlines in a stressful environment
- Track record of developing and implementing innovation and change
- Up-to-date with industry changes related to QI, FATCA & CRS

- Previous Securities/Custody business knowledge
- Canadian Securities Course
- Project Management
- VBA, SQL, PYTHON
