Job Description

• Daily P&L production, month-end reporting and reconciliation
• Act as the primary point person for all Front Office queries and issues and effectively monitor, track, and complete tasks in a timely fashion
• Perform daily P&L and Balance Sheet reconciliations to ensure figures are properly tied back to the systems of records
• Prepare daily p&l and decomposition with associated commentary
• Report daily commission to business management at detailed sub levels
• Resolve trader queries regarding missing or incorrect commission and the reallocation of commissions
• Calculate, liaise and report, assist in booking and settle inter group commissions including resolution of trade differences
• Prepare monthly reconciliations and standards of documentation to assist in attestation of balances and review by Financial Control
• Prepare all monthly accounting entries to the sub and General Ledger and conduct reconciliations to ensure figures are properly tied back to the systems of record
• Collaborate and provide support to our partners across Finance, locally and globally
• Participate in testing of new system updates and releases
• Provide information to satisfy audit requests from both internal and external auditors

Working Conditions

• This role supports the Global Equities EMEA and APAC team. In consideration of the time zone differences, this position requires an earlier start of 6:30am Toronto time with a commensurate earlier finish.
• A fair amount of stress is involved as the incumbent is expected to meet tight deadlines on a daily basis. Daily reporting is expected to be completed in an accurate and timely manner and attention to detail is required.

Must Have

• Minimum 2+ years Capital Markets experience, with a good knowledge of Cash Equities and Equity Derivatives
• Strong accounting experience
• Excellent Excel Skills
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal and communication skills
• Able to work effectively and reliably under pressure
• Advanced understanding of procedures and operational controls as they relate to trading systems and workflows
• Strong ability to work independently with minimal guidance from manager
