At EY, you’ll have the chance to build a career as unique as you are, with the global scale, support, inclusive culture and technology to become the best version of you. And we’re counting on your unique voice and perspective to help EY become even better, too. Join us and build an exceptional experience for yourself, and a better working world for all.

The opportunity

As a Manager in our team you would have day to day responsibility for the coordination and delivery of the taxation services that we provide to your allocated client accounts and engagement responsibility. You would have a high degree of personal interaction with our leadership team of Partners, Associate Partners and Directors – who are committed to supporting the development of all team members.  We pride ourselves on our strong team culture and in providing exceptional career and development opportunities to our staff at all levels.

Your key responsibilities

  • Manage the provision and delivery of income tax compliance and advisory services on your allocated corporate client accounts
  • Support engagement partners in the overall management and coordination of those accounts and associated business development activities
  • Supervise and support our senior consultants and junior team members (consultants and graduates) in the management and execution of their tax compliance and tax advisory services
  • Make a strategic contribution to tax transformation projects that enable clients to enhance, improve and automate their income tax compliance processes
  • Serve as a counsellor (coach) to our junior team members and help facilitate their professional development
  • Collaborate with other local and global experts and resources within our network to deliver outstanding services to our clients

Skills and attributes for success

To qualify for the role you must have

  • Significant Australian tax experience ideally gained in a top tier or second tier accounting firm, corporate, government entity or legal environment
  • An ability to manage both people and clients, including by developing and maintaining strong and broad relationships with clients and team members
  • Ability to assimilate complex and technical information in clear, succinct and well-informed communications to key stakeholders including our clients
  • A sound commercial awareness and strong interest in the dynamics of working with large corporate clients

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Tax accounting skills with experience in reviewing tax effect accounting calculations and reconciliations;
  • Experience or interest in tax digital technologies and data visualisation tools such as Power BI, Tableau and RPA

What we offer

  • Success as defined by you: We’ll provide the tools and flexibility, so you can make a meaningful impact, your way.
  • Continuous learning: personalised career development including coaching, experiences and formal learning so you’ll develop the mindset and skills you’ll need to thrive in the future.
  • Diverse and inclusive culture: You’ll be embraced for who you are and empowered to use your voice to help others find theirs.

At EY, you’ll be rewarded and recognised based on your performance and our comprehensive benefits package can be tailored to your individual needs.

The sponsored approver for this role is Ernst & Young Services Trust Ltd.

Regarding this role, the minimum salary is $110,000 AUD (Including 10% superannuation)

We hold a collective commitment to foster an environment where all differences are valued and respected, practices are equitable, and everyone experiences a sense of belonging. If you require any adjustments to the recruitment process in order to equitably participate, we encourage you to advise us at the time of application via contactrecruitment@au.ey.com or  phone +61 3 8650 7788 (option 4).
