We have a great permanent opportunity for a Management Accountant. The contract is for a 3 month period within a fast paced government agency supporting business unit managers with their budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and providing financial advice to drive sound business decisions. The successful candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication and have strong experience in management accounting.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Financial management of business units within the portfolio and support raising the financial capability of business unit managers.
• Produce and analyse progress reports, updated costs and forecasts, while aligning the budget process and seeking opportunities to improve processes.
• Prepare monthly performance reports, providing analysis of capital and operating variances, trends, cost drivers, risks and forecasts.
• Provide a high quality of service to business unit managers and across the finance team.

Requirements:

• CA qualified or equivalent
• 2+ year relevant experience in an accounting role with proven management accounting experience
• Government Experience favourable but not essential
