Work Conditions: 40 hours per week- Early morning shifts as scheduled and overtime as required based on operational needs

Position Description:

Working as part of the CTV Morning Live team, the Live Truck Operator will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and presentation of newscasts for television broadcast.  

Job Duties/Accountabilities:

• Set up the operation and execution of “live on location” broadcasts from remote sites, including operation of video camera equipment, editing software, and other related technical equipment contributing to the broadcast 
• Operate video camera, audio, transmission and other related technical equipment for live on location broadcasts and pre-taped segments 
• Work in collaboration with producers, technical director and show hosts to provide creative input into the production of live hits
• Maintain all television mobile equipment and troubleshoot technical issues
• Work in collaboration with production team and show guests daily
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• You are a team player with an ability to create visually appealing, interesting and informative television.  You pay close attention to detail and excel under the pressure of deadlines while handling multiple projects.  Must have live truck experience; be a graduate of a University or College Broadcast/Journalism program or equivalent experience; and the ability to work independently and accept constructive criticism are also job requirements.  Must possess a valid driver’s licence
• Minimum 3 years of experience in the operation of ENG cameras and live equipment
• Minimum 3 years of production experience in a news environment
• A valid Ontario driver’s licence or equivalent with clean abstract
• Good working knowledge of Ottawa’s geography and traffic
• Thorough knowledge of all types of broadcast equipment
• Experience with computer systems, networking, applications, etc

Bilingualism is an asset (English and French); adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
